We should begin this section with congratulations to Courtney Hawkins who as managing director of Superallsorts has won the Sir John Moore’s Award for outstanding progress in Enterprise. This is an excellent achievement which follows amazingly from our success last year with Shaun Ramage winning the same award. Two years in a row, well done! Superallsorts !

Our Year 10 group have continued to follow the Young Enterprise Team Programme, running their ‘Superallsorts’ company. They have designed and made cards, jewellery and gift bags which they have sold in school and at the Valentines fair at Mc Arthur Glen. Superallsorts have also sold their wares in Taylors staff canteen. A treat we all looked forward to.

Superallsorts have also worked closely with Feva to produce a calendar which should go on sale in the early Autumn. The pupils have had an article published in the press inviting potential advertisers to advertise on their calendar. The response has been slow but the group remain hopeful that they can bring in some success with some cold calling.

The group have learned a lot and grown in confidence throughout this year. Our
business link advisers from Bettys & Taylors Chris Powell MBE and Stuart
Page have once again supported us brilliantly. Chris and Stuart have in fact
in their own right had Young Enteprise success, both winning Business Adviser
of the Year in 2005 and 2007 respectively.

We are currently closing our company in line with the Young Enterprise guidelines and will begin with another company and a new set of students in September.
