SPIRITUAL, MORAL, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
At The Forest School all members of staff are
sensitive to the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development
of the pupils. This is promoted in a variety of ways: through direct
teaching in areas such as religious education, citizenship, the
pastoral curriculum, through assemblies where pupils are provided
with opportunities for reflection and discussion. It is also promoted
through careful attention to developing a school ethos in which
respect for others, awareness of their needs and sensitivity to
their individuality is central to everything that happens in the
school.
We support pupils in developing a sense of right
and wrong and we promote the development of independence, responsibility
and self discipline from the early years onwards.
We believe that consideration and courtesy
are essential in a learning community and work to help our pupils
develop these attributes.
