SPORT
Sport is a very important aspect of the curriculum
at The Forest School. Sport is an area where the pupils are able
to excel. It builds their confidence, encourages team work and sharing
and it gives the pupils the opportunity to try activities that they
may continue to do in their leisure time outside school. Sport activities
provided include swimming and diving, football, riding, orienteering,
climbing, caving, abseiling, bowling, volleyball, badminton, netball,
rounders, cricket, athletics, gymnastics and dance. We use the indoor
and outdoor facilities at school, sports centres, community facilities
and other schools.
Pupils also have the opportunity to experience
outdoor and adventurous activities in the local countryside.
Residential visits are an important part
of school life. In recent years pupils have been to France, Northumbria,
Cumbria, Scarborough and the North Yorkshire Centres. The school
has two minibuses which are used for off site activities and residential
visits.
